Pink Moment: Collections is Pepper Pepper’s first solo visual art exhibition in the Pacific Northwest, presenting a curated selection of photography and video from the ongoing Pink Moment series (2018–present). The work positions pink as a catalyst for self-reflection and expression, inviting audiences into an animate world where the wild, technology, and the body converge. Drawing from drag, performance, and new media, the series transforms personal and performative gestures into visual rituals of place-making and identity.

Through a distinctive process of portraiture and video manipulation, Pepper Pepper erases or obscures the familiar human form, creating temporal distortions and loops. By manually glitching video timelines, the artist produces Burroughs-esque “cut-up” collages that translate live dance and monologue performances into mesmerizing visual compositions. Central to the series is a singular pink dress, a recurring emblem through which movement, color, and narrative coalesce.

The exhibition offers an eye-catching and contemplative experience of controlled pink chaos. It embodies Pepper Pepper’s ongoing exploration of gender, technology, wild landscapes, and politics, inviting audiences to inhabit a space where vibrant color, experimental form, and personal expression intersect. Pink Moment: Collections is both a reflection and an invitation: a ritualized encounter with the possibilities of pink as medium, metaphor, and force.
